Kyiv Court keeps MP Savchenko under arrest

The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv kept under arrest Nadezhda Savchenko, non-factional people’s deputy, who is suspected of preparing terrorist acts and a coup d’etat.

The Judge Pavlo Slobodyanyuk read out the introductory and operative part of the decision, according to which the Court refused to satisfy the petition of the lawyers of Savchenko about changing her preventive measure from custody to any other one, not related to the arrest. Defenders were asked to change the preventive measure to Savchenko to send her under house arrest or bail out by deputies of local councils and social activists.

Thus, she remains in custody, UNIAN news agency reported.

Note that a meeting of the Court of Appeal of Kyiv was appointed on September 4, where the Court will consider the complaint of Sovchenko’s lawyers to change the preventive measure to her.

As The Journalist reported, Lutsenko proposed to cancel the title of Hero of Ukraine because of Nadezhda Savchenko.
