Suprun: Medicines prices fell by 40%

Acting Minister of Healthcare of Ukraine Uliana Suprun in an interview with Radio Liberty, stated that prices for medicines in Ukraine decreased by 40% over the past five years.

“In 2015, we transferred government procurement to international organizations. This is 5 or 6 billion hryvnia annually, which are no longer involved in corruption schemes. The Security Service of Ukraine, the Accounts Chamber and our calculations show that medicines prices have decreased by 40% from 2014 to 2018. These are very large funds that no longer go through distributors and the “pharmaceutical mafia” that was once in Ukraine ”, told Uliana Suprun.
