Survey: more than 79% of the population of Ukraine consider themselves Orthodox

Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) conducted a poll, the results of which showed that 48.8% of the population of the country belong to Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), and 16.3% belong to Orthodox Church, but without specifying the patriarchy. At the same time, 14.2% of respondents identify themselves with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (OCU MP), according to the KIIS website.

8.8% of respondents consider themselves to the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, 4.9% chose other confessions, and 2.7% found it difficult or refused to answer. At the same time, 4.3% of respondents consider themselves to be atheists.

According to the survey results, 54.2% of respondents positively assess the creation of a CCA and the provision of a Tomos to it, 31.2% have a neutral attitude, and a negative attitude at 10.9%. At the same time, 50.6% of respondents believe that the provision of Tomos is more likely to unite the society, and 30.5%, on the contrary, believe that this is rather a disconnecting factor.
