The global community continues to react to Trump’s decision to recognize the Golan Heights as the territory of Israel. Syria said Trump’s actions make Washington “the enemy of all Arabs.” This was reported by Reuters.
In addition, the Syrian Foreign Ministry called the US Golan Heights decision as a “blatant attack”.
Earlier, Trump said that 52 years after the Six Day War, it is time to recognize Israeli sovereignty over this territory. He also noted that this decision is of “strategic importance to the security of Israel.”
Recall that until 1967, the Golan Heights were part of Syria, but during the Six Day War, Israel took two thirds of the heights under its control.
Many countries have condemned this Trump’s decision.
