US President Donald Trump and the leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea Kim Jong-un will hold a meeting in Vietnam on February 27-28.

The head of the White House announced this during the second annual speech at State of the Union in front of both houses of the US Congress, Politico reports.

Trump said the United States continues to persevere in peace on the Korean Peninsula.

“Our hostages returned home, the nuclear tests stopped, and there was no missile launch over a 15 months period. If I had not been elected president of America, we would now, in my opinion, be in a state of great war with North Korea. Much remains to be done, but my relationship with Kim Jong-un is good,” Trump said.

"Chairman Kim and I will meet again in Vietnam on February 27-28," he added.

As The Journalist reported, Trump said that the United States will surpass China and Russia in an arms race.
