During the presidential debate in the United States held on Friday night (October 23 morning, Kyiv time), candidates Donald Trump and Joe Biden devoted part of their time to international issues, Evropeyskaya Pravda reports.

The debate was their last before the elections scheduled on November 3. So, instead of three rounds of debate, there were two.

U.S. foreign policy was not one of the main topics of debate, but it was touched upon when discussing other issues. In particular, speaking about Russia’s interference in the American elections, Biden accused Trump of using unverified information from the Russian Federation.

Joe Biden categorically denied the accusations that, thanks to his son’s business, he had corruption ties in Ukraine, as well as in China and the Russian Federation. Biden also said that he “received not a penny” from foreign governments. Thus, the Democratic Party candidate reacted to Trump’s accusations that he received USD 3.5 million from Russia, and also had a percentage of his son’s business, Hunter, in Ukraine and China.

Also during the debate, the issue of relations between the United States and North Korea was raised, including several meetings between Trump and the leader of the DPRK Kim Jong-un, which took place, despite the fact that such contacts were previously considered unacceptable.
