Turkish and U.S. warships conducted training in the Central and Eastern Mediterranean, Ukrinform reports with reference to the Turkish Ministry of Defense.
“Joint naval training of the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier strike group led by the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Eisenhower and the Turkish Navy’s TCG KEMALREİS frigate were held in the Central and Eastern Mediterranean as part of Operation Mediterranean Shield,” the message reads.
The US Navy Aircraft Carrier Strike Group led by the aircraft carrier Eisenhower entered the Mediterranean Sea via the Suez Canal on 25 July. There are 48 jet fighters on board of the aircraft carrier.
