US Congress reach deal on US-Mexico border wall funding

Representatives of the Democratic and Republican parties in the US Congress were able to reach deal on the allocation of funds for the construction of the wall on the border with Mexico, Associated Press reported.

Republican senator from Alabama state Richard Shelby said that the parties had reached a “basic agreement”, but did not disclose any details. It is noted that this agreement will allow to avoid a new “shutdown” of the US government.
Recall that US President Donald Trump demanded to provide USD 5.6 billion in the federal budget for 2019 in order to build a wall on the border with Mexico to deter illegal immigrants. Democrats in Congress agreed to give only USD 1.3 billion.
