U.S. Strategic Command Chief Charles Richard has warned that increasing China’s nuclear stockpile is “next” on Beijing’s “to-do list,” the Voice of America reports.
The head of the U.S. Strategic Command is convinced that China has a proven record of consistently building up its armed forces. Over the past seven years, Beijing has built more than 250 ships for the newly established Coast Guard.
According to Richard, strategic forces are the next on China’s to-do list.
“And I’m trying to prepare us for the future threat, not the one that exists today,” Richard said.
