The United States has expanded its assistance to Ukraine in countering the COVID-19 pandemic bringing it to USD 9.1 million. This was reported by the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States.

The funds will be allocated to Ukraine through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)

The funds are planned to be directed to prepare laboratory systems, activate case-finding and event-based surveillance, support technical experts for response and preparedness, bolster risk communication, and more.

Thanks to U.S. assistance, it will be possible to contribute to the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 patients, and will also prevent and control infection at targeted health facilities; and support water, sanitation and hygiene interventions for the most vulnerable populations in Donetsk and Luhansk.
