U.S. Chargé d’Affaires a.i. in Ukraine William Taylor at the opening ceremony of the 2nd International Veteran and Volunteer Forum, said that the United States of America is committed to continuing to support Ukrainian volunteers and veterans through the specialized ministry. It is up to Ukraine to determine the format of its activities, Ukrinform reported.

“The United States is committed to supporting Ukraine. We will be able to continue to support volunteers and veterans in civilian life with the help of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs […] The task of Ukraine and the Ukrainians today is to determine the format of the Ministry’s activities,” Taylor said.

Taylor noted that the United States wants veterans, who are going through a transition period after returning from the war, to receive the appropriate educational services, as well as the medical support they deserve.

“From the US side, we would like to meet the veterans’ needs to acquire new skills they need to live on,” the diplomat said.

Therefore, he expressed hope that the Ministry for Veterans’ Affairs would work within the framework of the agreements reached earlier and that its main purpose would be to improve the lives of veterans with the involvement of the public sector representatives.

As The Journalist reported, Zelensky called information on possible liquidation of Ministry of Veterans’ Affairs “embarrassing gossips”.
