In the case the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline will be launched, Ukraine will insist on USD 12 billion compensation and appeal to the International Arbitration. The corresponding Ukraine’s claim has already been sent to the International Court of Justice. The Commercial Director of the National Joint-Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine Yuriy Vitrenko said this on the air of Channel 5.
«If the gas pipeline project is really will be implemented, Kyiv will demand recovery of the damage (which will be caused by the idle of its gas transmission system) from Russia. The company has already filed a lawsuit to the International Arbitration Court,» – said Naftogaz’s CEO.
