The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Ukraine believes that holding on July 26, 2020 without the consent of the Ukrainian side of the so-called naval parade of units of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation on the occasion of the Day of the Navy of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied city of Sevastopol as another violation of international law, including numerous resolutions of the UN General Assembly, as well as Ukrainian legislation.

“The cynical organization of the “parade” of the occupation fleet is yet another illustration of Russia’s deliberate steps towards the escalation of tension in Ukrainian-Russian relations. Ukraine condemns the illegal demonstration by the Russian Federation of its “military power”, as well as actions with further militarization of the territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation, which poses a significant threat to regional security,” the diplomatic department said.

Also, Ukraine demands from the Russian Federation to immediately stop all the international illegal actions against the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and to take measures to de-occupy part of the sovereign territory of Ukraine. A corresponding note of protest has been sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
