Ukraine, Cyprus resume political dialogue, trade and economic cooperation

On September 28, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba held a phone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodulidis, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reports.

“The heads of the foreign ministries of Ukraine and Cyprus agreed to intensify political dialogue between the two countries and to give a new impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation in the economic and investment spheres,” the message reads.

The ministers also discussed the modalities of preparation for the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukraine-Cyprus Commission as an important common body to promote the development of trade and economic cooperation.

“I am very interested in the development of trade and new investment projects. I am convinced that Ukraine and Cyprus will remain reliable partners in these areas,” the Ukrainian Foreign Minister stressed.

Dmytro Kuleba expressed gratitude for the Republic of Cyprus’ continued support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders, both at the bilateral level and in the EU.

The heads of the foreign ministries exchanged invitations to make visits after the epidemic situation improves.
