Ukraine exacts first fine for violation of her airspace over Crimea

For the first time since the annexation of the Crimean peninsula, Ukraine has exacted a fine for violating airspace over Crimea. It is reported by ArmіyaINFORM.

UAH 136,000 fine was paid by Kazakhstan airline Euro-Asia Air.

On August 8, 2019, a Kazakh airline plane flew within the restricted area over the occupied peninsula. In November 2019 was imposed a fine for civil aviation offenses.

“Kazakh Airlines pleaded guilty and voluntarily paid this fine. Therefore, the State budget of Ukraine has recently replenished by UAH 136,000,” the report said.

The agency also notes that since the annexation of the peninsula, about 200,000 illegal crossings of Ukraine’s air borders have been carried out, however, no airline has paid a fine.

EU: Construction of railway communication between the Russian Federation and Crimea is another violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty.
