At the Yahorlyk testing ground (Kherson Oblast), regular live fire drills of air defense units of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been completed.
According to the Skhid (East) air command, live firing of S-300PT anti-aircraft missile systems was carried out both on air and ground targets, which indicated enemy air attack weapons.
Together with them, the combat launches of anti-aircraft missiles carried out by the Nikopol anti-aircraft missile regiment.
During tactical exercises, its participants, in conditions as close to combat as possible, successfully used the modern automated Oreanda mobile command post.
On the first day of exercise, over 20 launches were made from S-300PT, S-300V1, Buk M1, S-125-2D1 systems on air, ground, surface and electronic targets. All targets have been hit.
At the final stage of the exercises, all units returned to the points of permanent deployment and began to carry out combat duty.
Live fire training of air defense units has been held at the Yahorlyk range since 2016. The Chauda training ground that Ukraine used for these purposes is located in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
