Ukraine’s Finance Minister Oksana Markarova has said that Ukraine was actively negotiating with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) regarding a new funding program. This was reported by Bloomberg news agency.

Markarova stressed that the program could be designed for three years. The Minister did not mention the possible amount of funding, but noted that the current program had been concluded only for the election period in Ukraine.

“The investors are interested in Ukraine’s domestic bonds, so the government will is unlikely to sell more debt on international markets in 2019. In total EUR 1 billion debt has been sold this month. We already see the exceeding of the budget forecasts for financing at the expense of local loans,” Markarova noted.
