This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin.
“In terms of issuing passports, it is very important that the European Union understands that this time with some kind of formal sanctions, personal, nothing should end. That will be exactly what we call treason,” Klimkin said.
According to the minister, the issuance of Russian passports is a big problem for Ukraine and its national security. Also, according to Klimkin, this problem concerns Belarus, Moldova, Latvia and Estonia, UNIAN reports.
To the clarification that Klimkin had previously said that in response to Russia issuing passports in the occupied Donbas, “surprises” are being prepared, the minister replied: “In fact, there will be several surprises. I will not announce them. There are ideas related to the application of practical, technical things in biometrics. There are ideas related to the upcoming census. There are ideas that you won’t hear about at all. They will be made at the level of special services. ”
As reported by “Journalist”, the EU does not intend to impose sanctions against the Russian Federation for issuing Russian passports in the Donbas.
