Ukraine, Israel ministers discuss trade and investment cooperation between two countries

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba held a phone conversation with the Co-Chair of the Ukrainian-Israeli Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, Minister for Higher and Complimentary Education, and Minister of Water Resources of the State of Israel Zeev Elkin, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reports.

Dmytro Kuleba congratulated Zeev Elkin on entering the new Israeli Government and wished him fruitful work as the Co-Chair of the Ukrainian-Israeli Commission on Trade and Eeconomic Cooperation. Mr Elkin noted that he is pleased to continue working on the development of relations between Ukraine and Israel, which he has been engaged in for many years.

The sides discussed the ratification of the free trade agreement, which is expected to take place soon. Zeev Elkin is convinced that it will open a new page in relations between the two states.

Mr Kuleba separately noted that he pays great attention to the development of trade, investment and the IT sector and expressed hope that Ukraine and Israel are able to achieve outstanding results in these areas of joint interest.

“The parties also discussed infrastructure projects in Ukraine, which could attract Israeli investors, in particular, construction of the airport in Cherkasy, ​​the Cherkasy-Uman highway, as well as projects in the field of IT and agriculture,” the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said.

Kuleba and Elkin exchanged invitations to visit Ukraine and Israel under favorable conditions.
