The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky discussed with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu the prospects for uniting the energy grids of the two countries with that of continental Europe.
“We have very productive negotiations, paying special attention to the prospects for economic cooperation,” Zelensky said during a joint press conference with Sandu in Kyiv.
According to the president, in 2018, the trade turnover between Ukraine and Moldova grew by 11%, to almost USD 1 billion.
To Zelensky, the parties also discussed the “prospects for uniting the power grids of Ukraine and Moldova with that of continental Europe.”
“I assured the Moldovan side of Ukraine’s reliability as an electricity supplier,” said the head of state.
