Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Volodymyr Borodyansky said that Ukraine expects Poland to provide necessary documents to start search and exhumation work in Ukraine.
According to Borodyansky, on September 19, he meet with the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, Bartosz Zychocki.
“I’ve confirmed the statement of the President of Ukraine on lifting restrictions on search and exhumation work. In this connection, I received from the ambassador a letter of appeal from the Polish side on the granting of relevant permits and promised to promptly give an answer,” the minister said.
According to Borodyansky, he “explained to the Polish side the specific of the procedures regarding searching works, and urged the Polish side to submit documentation as soon as possible in accordance with existing procedures in order to start work.”
The Minister assured of the full support of the whole process of work and expressed hope for close cooperation with the Polish Ministry of Culture and the Institute of National Remembrance in the restoration of Ukrainian memorial sites in Poland.
