On June 18, Ukraine set another anti-record of daily new 829 coronavirus cases, bringing the total number to 34 063 cases. The number of COVID-19 deaths reached 966, up 23 on previous day. This was reported by the Center for Public Health.
The number of active patients (excluding convalescent and deceased) as of the morning of June 18 was 17,650. For the entire time of the epidemic, the most cases of infection were detected in Chernivtsi region (4,135), in Kyiv (4,084) and Lviv region (3,398).
Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov at a press conference recalled the need to maintain social distance, wash hands as often as possible and be sure to use face masks.
In turn, the chief sanitary doctor Viktor Liashko noted that Ukraine recently has recorded a significant increase in number of cases of coronavirus infections, which exceeds the global average.
