The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a decision that allows to use metallurgical slag and ash in construction of roads in Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure.

Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladyslav Krykliy noted that the introduction of innovative materials and technologies in road construction allows to get rid of dependence on imports of building materials from the Russian Federation, in particular, bitumen.

This will also save money during road works, while the quality will be up to standard.

“Such a decision should improve the environmental situation because metallurgical waste will not pollute the environment and will ‘work’ to benefit society,” the minister emphasized.

Honcharuk: High-quality roads should appear in Ukraine in next 3-5 years.
