Ukraine’s Parliament appoints Ihor Petrashko Minister of Economic Development

Prime Minister Denis Shmygal at an extraordinary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, has introduced Ihor Petrashko as a candidate for the post of Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine. At least 243 people’s deputies backed his candidacy.

Draft resolution No.3226 “On the appointment of Ihor Petrashko Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine”, initiated by Shmygal, was registered in VR on March 16. Some 217 deputies from the “Servants of the people” perty, 13 MPs from the “Dovira” party, 7 from the “Za maibutne” party (“For the future”) and 6 non-faction MPs supported his candidacy.

Petrashko graduated from Lviv National Polytechnic University. Since April 2013, he worked at Ukrlandfarming as Deputy General Director.
