The Minister of Health Maksym Stepaniv said that the healthcare reform in Ukraine should not cause hospitals to close and health workers to quit because of it.
According to the minister, Ukrainians need a high-quality healthcare system, which will benefit both doctors and patients.
“Now we are auditing healthcare system of Ukraine, and the signals we received are very disturbing. We have already made a number of decisions on how to quite this situation, what adjustments to make, including to the budget. We need to reform medicine, not destruct it,” Stepaniv said.
The Minister of Health noted that the completion of the healthcare reform, is the task for the President Volodymyr Zelensky, too.
“We are working to voice our proposals on how to get out of this situation, so that we avoid dismissal of health workers and closure of hospitals,” Stepaniv said.
