Ukraine’s underground gas reserves reach record volumes

The volume of gas in the underground gas storage facilities (UGS) of Ukraine has reached 21.8 billion cubic meters. The same gas volume was last recorded in 2019 at the end of the injection season in November, the Ukrtransgaz’s press service reports.

The current gas injection rates are record-breaking for domestic UGS facilities. For comparison, as of August 1, 2019, 15.9 billion cubic meters of blue fuel were stored in underground storage facilities.

Ukraine expected that by the beginning of the heating season, country’s underground gas storages will be filled by about 25.5 – 26.5 billion cubic meters of gas.
