The Ministry for Veterans Affairs and the American company Tetra Tech TMR Operating Unit signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of humanitarian mine clearance.
According to the press service of the ministry, Tetra Tech launched an initiative to organize training courses for veterans on the implementation of humanitarian demining.
In particular, the company proposes to provide training, education and certification of specialists in humanitarian mine clearance.
“Tetra Tech is ready to create such conditions under which veterans will be busy at all levels of management and project implementation; they will be provided with the necessary training,” said Minister Iryna Friz.
According to the memorandum, Tetra Tech will carry out all operations in line with the national standards of mine action (adopted in Ukraine in 2018), and will comply with its requirements in all aspects.
Note that Tetra Tech has been working in the field of demining and countering improvised explosive devices for over 25 years; it has been working in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria.
