Ukraine to join UNESCO Virtual Ministerial Dialogue on COVID-19

Ukraine will join an open platform for the exchange of experience, scientific information, to combat and overcome the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. The platform will be created under the auspices of UNESCO, according to the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Yuriy Polyukhovych, Hovernmental portal reports.

Polyukhovich took part in a virtual ministerial dialogue on COVID-19 and open science held on March 30, 2020.

“Today, we start a global dialogue under the auspices of UNESCO on the problems of COVID-19 from the point of view of science. This is about joining the efforts of scientists from all countries in order to deal with the coronavirus pandemic and its consequences, on the principles of open science,” Polyukhovych said.

To him, a single platform will be created on the basis of open exchange of scientific data, initiatives and innovations in the field of individual protection, treatment, monitoring and prediction of the spread of the virus. It will also have a unit to overcome social and economic consequences, in particular the continuation of the educational process.
