Ukraine to receive up to 8M doses of coronavirus vaccine from EU

Ukraine will be able to receive up to 8 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine as a participant in the initiative of the Coronavirus Vaccine Global Access Facility (COVAX) fund, to which the EU has allocated EUR 400 million to purchase about 2 billion doses of vaccine. Olha Stefanishina, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, wrote this in an article for the Dzerkalo Tyzhnya (Mirror Weekly).

On August 31, the European Union allocated EUR 400 million to the Coronavirus Vaccine Global Access Facility (COVAX) fund, which will ensure the purchase of 2 billion doses of vaccine by the end of 2021. According to her, Ukraine was selected to the list of participants in this initiative, therefore, it will be able to receive up to 8 million doses of the vaccine.

Recall that as of October 7, Ukraine recorded 239,337 cases of coronavirus, up 4,753 over the past day.
