Ukraine will use Croatia’s experience in clearing mines on both contact lines in the Donbas. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories.

The Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Ukraine organized a seminar for the Ukrainian ministry “Military-technical cooperation between Croatia and Ukraine in mechanical mine clearance: experience, status and opportunities”.

The participants of the event stated that the eastern regions of Ukraine are critically contaminated with mines and explosive objects.

So, only on the territory controlled by the Ukrainian government near the contact line in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, about 7,000 square kilometers of land are contaminated with mines. Another 15,000 square kilometers were mined in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, Ukrainian Military Portal reports.

Consequently, within the framework of the seminar, it was noted that Ukraine is one of the most mine-contaminated countries, along with Afghanistan and Syria.
