Crews of the Su-24M, Su-24MR and L-39 aircraft from the 7th Tactical Aviation Brigade named after Petro Franko of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine completed flights with the aim of restoring and maintaining piloting skills, as well as did aerial refueling for the first time in 20 years.
Crew trainings were carried out at a training ground in Khmelnitsky Oblast.
“One of the key points of flights was a control test of a unified refueling suspension unit, which undergo repair and modernization at the Mykolaiv Aircraft Repair Plant. These flights were carried out by the best “Sukhoi” aircraft crews. After all, aerial refueling have not been carried out in Ukraine for more than 20 years,” the AFU General Staff said on Facebook. “Aerial refueling flights will be scheduled in the future and flight teams of the brigade will be involved in the implementation of this important element of combat training, which allows us to solve problems with an increased radius of action of the Su-24M and Su-24MR aircraft.”
INFO: The 7th Tactical Aviation Brigade named after Petro Franko is deployed in the city of Starokostiantyniv (Khmelnitsky Oblast). According to open sources, the brigade is armed with at least 24 Su-24M bombers, 12 Su-24MR reconnaissance aircraft and L-39 Albatros training aircraft.
