Ukrainian diplomat Hrebeniuk replaces Bezsmertny in Minsk talks

Valeriy Hrebeniuk has replaced Roman Bezsmertnyi as Ukraine’s representative in the political subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group on Donbas.

This was stated by Martin Sajdik, who represents the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe in the TCG, Radio Liberty reports.

According to Sajdik, on August 21, the political subgroup continued to discuss the Steinmeier formula, a possible amnesty and holding local elections in the occupied part of Donbas.

Hrebeniuk served as the Ukrainian consul in the United States; he was the head of the consular and legal department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the head of the Main Foreign Policy Service of the Presidential Secretariat during Victor Yushchenko presidency; from 2008-2014 he served as ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of South Africa and simultaneously to Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe. In 2014, he was appointed the Ukrainian Security Service’s diplomatic adviser in international law.
