Ukrainian fleet conducts five-day military campaign in Black Sea

The Ukrainian Naval Forces carried out a five-day military campaign in the Black Sea to develop elements of combat training, coherence of the divisions of diverse forces and to demonstrate their presence in the Black Sea region. This was reported by the Ukrainian Navy’s Command.

“In addition to the Navy vessels, the event was attended by marine corps units, marine and tactical aviation of the Ukrainian Air Force,” the statement reads.

 The military personnel worked out a number of tactical exercises, including landing of an amphibious assault on an unequipped coast in the conditions of the enemy’s dominance in the sea and airspace, conducting minefields, protecting sea lanes, preventing blocking of a base point and so on.

Near Odesa region, the military, as part of tactical heterogeneous groups, worked out actions to repel an enemy attack at sea and provide assistance to a vessel in distress.

The basis of the military campaign made up ships, boats and vessels assigned to the Naval Forces in 2020. Control of forces was carried out from the ship control point. In accordance with the distribution of functions according to NATO standards, the flotilla will continue to work to acquire opportunities for the training of naval personnel.
