On the eve of the anniversary of the shootings during Revolution of Dignity, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a resolution defining the Revolution of Dignity as one of the key moments in the formation of the Ukrainian state and the national idea of freedom. Some 295 People’s Deputies backed it.
Document # 2739 notes the following:
– inadmissibility of delay in the investigation of the Maidan case;
– emphasizes the importance of the memory of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, the inadmissibility of the usurpation of power;
– an assessment is given to the actions of former President Viktor Yanukovych, the Berkut police units and other individuals and organizations that committed illegal actions, namely, the illegal actions of individual employees of the Berkut police units, individual police officers, servicemen of the internal troops, bailiffs, prosecutors, judges, and others persons during the Revolution of Dignity.
