Eden Bekirov, Pavlo Gryb and 9 more former Kremlin’s political prisoners will undergo a ten-day rehabilitation course in Latvia. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of temporarily occupied territories.

The trip will take place within the framework of the rehabilitation program developed by the Government of the Republic of Latvia.

“We understand you and your struggle very well. This is why we are so eager to support you. The program of your stay in Latvia includes not only rehabilitation, but also meetings and conversations with our officials and schoolchildren,” Latvian Ambassador to Ukraine Juris Poikāns said.

Ukrainian Minister Oksana Kolyada noted that the government has already made appropriate changes to the resolution, and now families illegally deprived of their liberty will receive financial assistance every year while their loved ones are being held in custody.

“A bill on the social protection of persons deprived of their liberty has also been preparedand will be registered soon in the Verkhovna Rada. Currently we are amending our regulatory legal acts in order as much as possible to meet the needs of those, who returned from captivity and those who have not yet been able to return home,” Kolyada noted.

As The Journalist reported, Zelensky hopes to hold ‘all for all’ prisoner swap by the end of 2019.
