Chairman of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia (UZ) Volodymyr Zhmak sees no need for further purchase of diesel locomotives of the American General Electric concern and noted that it would be more profitable to switch to electric locomotives. He said this during a press conference in Kyiv, Ukrinform reports.
“As for cooperation with General Electric, today I do not see the need for further purchase of General Electric diesel locomotives. Our goal is to switch to electric locomotives, since it is much more economical,” the message says.
To Volodymyr Zhmak, UZ has already eliminated the shortage of locomotives.
