The Ukrainian film Volcano, created jointly with Germany and Monaco and supported by the State Film Agency of Ukraine (Goskino), won the Hidden Dragon award at the second Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon International Film Festival. This was reported on the official website of Goskino.
The festival was held in the city of Pingyao (China). The festival’s competition commission consists of specially selected representatives of various professions; the decision on the winners was decided by a jury of 35 spectators.

«This is the fourth award for the film: Volcano received an amazing response from the audience, people were so interested to learn more about modern life in Ukraine, about her mythology, culture,» said the film director Roman Bondarchuk.

The film told about the life of the protagonist of the film named Lucas, who is experiencing a midlife crisis. He works as a translator in the OSCE office and as part of a monitoring mission was sent to the border with the Crimea. A series of strange coincidences leaves Lucas alone with the mysterious and chaotic universe of the southern steppe of Ukraine, in which life seems to be divorced from any structure. In this strange place, where every day may be the last, Lucas begins life anew.
As The Journalist reported, Ukrainian film «Dyakuyu» was awarded a special prize at Croatia film festival.
