The Ukrainian National team took eighth place in the medal standings at the first European Summer Sports Championship, which were held from August 2 to August 12 in the UK and Germany.
Ukrainian sportsmen won 8 gold, 13 silver and 5 bronze medals, RBC reports.
The tournament in Glasgow (The United Kingdom) and Berlin (Germany) became the first multi-sport European championship, which will now be held every four years. At the Championship, awards were given for seven kinds of sports: athletics, aquatics, cycling, gymnastics, rowing, golf and triathlon.
The top ten included teams from Russia, Great Britain, Italy, Holland, Germany, France, Hungary, Poland and Switzerland.
