The UN calls on donors to step up efforts to fill the Joint Fund for Humanitarian Assistance to Ukraine. The UN is said that it would be desirable to find USD 52 million to cover the most urgent humanitarian needs in Donbas against the background of the fast approaching winter. This was announced by the representative of the UN Secretary General Stephane Dujarric, Ukrinform reports.

To Dujarric, the UN humanitarian plan for Ukraine for 2019, which provides for USD 162 million of total financial needs, is now 32% full.

“The UN and our humanitarian partners urgently call for USD 52 million to meet the most urgent humanitarian needs as winter approaches, when temperatures drop to -15 to -20,” the UN Secretary General said.

As The Journalist reported, UN will provide aid to residents of Ukraine’s ‘gray zone’ in Donbas.
