Unemployment rate in Ukraine became highest over past 15 years

To the State Employment Service of Ukraine, about 90,000 people were registered as unemployed during the quarantine. The Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry specified that during the month of quarantine the number of unemployed in Ukraine increased by 1 -1.3 million and reached 2.5-2.8 million people. This was reported by the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture, as well as the by the European Truth.

Since the introduction of quarantine in Ukraine, more than 89,200 Ukrainians have been officially registered as unemployed in the State Employment Service. As of April 16, the number of officially registered unemployed in Ukraine reached 400,900 people.

Moreover, according to experts, the unemployment rate today is 13.7-15.4%. This is the highest figure over the past 15 years, said the President of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce Hennady Chyzhykov.
