The Trade Union of Railway and Transport Construction Workers of Ukraine on May 14 will hold a protest action at the building of the Cabinet of Ministers demanding an increase in salary for railway workers by 25% in 2019. In addition, among the demands is the provision of state support and reduction of the tax burden for Ukrzaliznytsia. This was announced by the head of the trade union Vadym Bubnyak at the press conference “What do the railway workers expect from the government?”.
According to Bubnyak, the trade union has already sent to the Cabinet of Ministers demands for the revision of the financial plan of Ukrzaliznytsia. At the same time, Bubnyak noted that the salary of the top officials of Ukrzaliznytsia is very high. It is known that the trade union appealed to the International Organizations of Transport Workers – the International Transport Workers’ Federation, the European Transport Workers’ Federation, the International Confederation of Railway Workers’ Unions with a proposal to jointly support their demands.
