Melinda Simmons has been appointed new British Ambassador to Ukraine, the press service of the British government informs.
“Ms Melinda Simmons has been appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Ukraine,” the press release said.
Judith Gough, who has been the British ambassador to Ukraine since 2015, will be transferred to another diplomatic post. The new ambassador will take up her appointment in summer 2019.
Melinda Simmons held various positions in the Ministry of International Development, as deputy head of several departments in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa.
