House of Representatives of the United States of America (US urges to include the Azov regiment into the list of foreign terrorist organizations, the Voice of America reported.
New York State Congressman Mark Rose (Republicans) has published Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s letter demanding that to include Azov regiment, along with two radical organizations, into the list of terrorist organizations.
This proposal was motivated by the fact that the Azov regiment was associated with a terrorist involved in the Christchurch mosque shootings that occurred in March 2019. The terrorist in his “manifesto” said he was trained with the Azov regiment in Ukraine, and also constantly wore a symbol associated with it.
The initiative was backed by 39 Congress members, representatives of the Democratic Party.
The Congress members also demanding the right-wing organizations Nordic Resistance Movement from Sweden and National Action from Britain to be added to the list of terrorist organizations.
