Three Committees of the House of Representatives of the US Congress issued a subpoena to US Energy Secretary Rick Perry demanding a series of documents as part of their investigation into the impeachment of President Donald Trump.

Congress notified Rick Perry about this with a House Commitiees’ letter (intelligence, surveillance, reform and international affairs committees).

To Voice of America, the requirement obliges the Energy Minister to prepare documents related to his knowledge of Trump’s July 25 phone call with the Ukrainian president.

“Recently there have been reports regarding your role in the transmission or underlining the message of the US president to the president of Ukraine,” the letter says.

“These reports also raised serious questions regarding your efforts to push Ukrainian officials to change Naftogaz board in favor of those associated with Rudy Giuliani’s attempts to drag Ukrainian officials into our 2020 elections,” the letter emphasizes.

The deadline for document submission is October 18.
