The cinema building, located on the Peremohy Avenue, was in fire. This is reported by «The Informator».
It is reported, that in Kiev, not far from «Zhitomirskaya» metro station, in a result of fire, the building of former cinema «Ekran» was burned.
«Smoke is visible from hundreds of meters. Things and property is taking out of the building. The firefighters are working on site», – the report says.
In connection with the fire, the electricity was disabled in all nearby booths. The cause of the fire is unknown.
Recall that the «Ekran» cinema was built in 1911 and was among the visiting cards of the capital. It showed films even during the World War Second. The cinema was named in the honor of May Day until the 1970s, and by the end of the 1970s, after restoration works, it was renamed as «Ekran». Previously, it was going to be reconstructed, but the project was conserved. In 2011 it was planned to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the cinema.
As «The Journalist» earlier reported, in the village of Vishneve was a strong fire on May 27.
