On August 12th Kyiv will host the first stage of League of Veterans – kayaking competition.

League of Veterans competitions are non-Olympic sports among military veterans in East of Ukraine. Within the framework of the event three stages of the competitions are planned:
I stage – August 12th – kayaking together with our regular partners Kayak Canoe Center – Slavutich
II stage – September 16th – karting competitions on the basis of the Ingul-Kart autodrome and with the assistance of the Kyiv City Automotive Club
III stage – October 14th – on the occasion of Defender Day, the final stage of bowling competitions will take place in our native Bowling Club Brooklyn and with assistance of Ukrainian Bowling Federation.
It should be noted that the project was developed by the public organization of the Union of Participants, Veterans, Disabled of ATO and Combat Actions (SUVIATO) in order to enhance the opportunities for social adaptation of militaries in the East of Ukraine through the popularization and adoption of a healthy lifestyle.
«These particular sports are not chosen randomly – kayaking, go-karting and bowling are dynamic, accessible and do not require long specific training. Regular trainings and stages of competitions will help improve the emotional and physical condition of fighters, and in the future – unification of families of ATO participants around sporting events.
We do not strive to achieve fantastic sports results; everyone who wants to participate in the competition will be able to take part. In future League of Veterans is a movement of active, athletic veterans, a constant opportunity for quality leisure in the circle of colleagues and an effective way to overcome the negative consequences of the post-war syndrome», event organizers say.
