Archaeologists of China announced the discovery of the ruins of the mint in Central China, where they were engaged in casting coins more than 2,000 years ago. About this reports Russian.News.Cn.

Ruins of a large state-owned mint in Nanyang City, Henan Province were found by chance, as a result of soil subsidence, after rain.
According to the researchers, the find will make it possible to advance in the study of the technology of making coins and the socio-economic system of that time.
Scientists note that the inscriptions on the identified forms for casting coins indicate that they were used during the reign of Wang Man, the founder and sole ruler of the Xin Empire.
According to experts, the ruins of the mint occupy a total area of about 100 thousand square meters. At the moment, excavations have been carried out only on a site of 75 square meters.
