During the first half of the year 2018, the Police have received about 60,000 reports of domestic violence. This is written by Ukrinform news agency, citing the aide of the Chairman of the National Police of Ukraine, Andrii Tkachev.
«Last year, the Police received 110,923 complaints of domestic violence. For the half of the year of 2018 this figure was about 60,000,» – Tkachev said.
According to the information provided by experts, officially recorded statistic is only a tenth of the real number of cases when people are being subjected to violence within the family.
«We can talk about 1 million cases of domestic violence in Ukraine every year,» – Tkachev added.
According to the Aide to the Chairman of the National Police, in previous years about 100 thousand similar appeals are receiving by law enforcement agencies annually.
As The Journalist reported earlier, Ukrainian policemen will be armed with H&K MP-5 submachine guns.
