A periodic table chart dating from 1885 was discovered at the University of St. Andrews Andrews in Scotland, The Guardian reported.
University’s staff discovered the chart of elements in 2014, but this became publicized only now.
The university found out that the table is annotated in German and contains only 71 elements, it was printed in Vienna, and it came to the university from Germany. In 1888 it was acquired by one of the employees of the educational institution.
Recall that Dmitri Mendeleev discovered the periodic law in 1869. Now the table contains 118 elements or 126 if to take into account hypothetical ones.
