UN established special assistance fund for civilian population of Donbas

Ursula Mueller, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) for Humanitarian Affairs, said that an international organization had established a humanitarian aid fund to support residents of Donbas, Ukrinform reports.
It is reported that the UN established a joint humanitarian assistance fund to Ukraine at a special meeting.

“I am pleased to announce today the creation of the Joint Fund for Humanitarian Aid to Ukraine, and I urge donors to join it,” Mueller said.

According to the Assistant Secretary-General, a number of countries have already contributed to the fund.
Mueller noted that USD 162 million is needed this year to help the residents of eastern Ukraine.
It is noted that the UN office in Ukraine will manage fund work.
As The Journalist reported, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine is negotiating with World Bank on new guarantee.
